thanks guys

these sticks are definitely great but comparing them to the PC3-16000's, there isn't much difference there. i am confident the PC3-16000's will scale at 8-9-8 the way these did with this W3540. the max 8-9-8 clocks are clearly limited by the IMC at this point, and this W3540 is a good bit stronger than my 920's IMC.

i might also try for max 8-9-8 clocks next time i have this CPU under LN2, perhaps another 30C ~ 40C lower will help the IMC out a bit.

nice detail so far jody... this kit looks fair strong..

glad to hear youve got a stronger imc than your d0.. maybe we will see uncore higher than 4ghz for once... j/k =p

thanks George. my 920 can clock uncore, just not with any ratio other than 2*memory. this W3540 can clock uncore on pretty much any ratio. but it is definitely stronger than the 920 for uncore/memory clocks.

a small update from the last session with this memory before posting the review. a new personal best 32M and AM3 with the memory at 1172MHz 8-9-8. this kit is just lethal, hoping to get more CPU frequency in 32M yet though.
