OS/Driver Install Procedure for 3D Benching
I'm sure everyone has their own way of setting up and I just wanted to share how I've been doing things. I find myself going through this procedure every time I bench a new GPU. If anyone has a better way of setting up please let me know so I can modify this lengthy procedure.

If you are going to be using the same motherboard repeatedly, you can always install once and make an image BEFORE installing video drivers so you can play with different versions.

Ouch
You waste your time going this way bro . Use a backup program and then just flash your OS . This procedure takes less than 5 minutes . Prefer to install your OS from your original ( cough* ) cd every time you get a new mobo . Then install the other progs and the benches and back up this partition to another HDD you have . Do this procedure for every OS you use . When you finish with all your OSs then flash each one to a partition that you will create . Do not install vga drivers before the backup so you don't have to uninstall and reinstall drivers for different cards . An HDD with many OSs ( multiboot ) is not the way I used to flash my HDDs . Kal prefers it though lol :D For taking backups and flashing the images I use Norton Ghost . You can create and delete partitions through this program . These are my images : http://oi55.tinypic.com/30l02a8.jpg P.S : Install all your OSs with HT on :D |
OK, got it!!!!!!
Thanks to Honda and Neuro for for walking me though it. :) http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/r...EMI/Images.jpg OCM  |

hmmm...so can any1 explain what are the steps involved again??? I still use the normal time consuming install from CD method, :(
Already have a copy of Norton Ghost though have never used it to take backups at home. (Used it in office earlier but it was easier because all systems used to have same hardware) |
