Asus P8P67 WS
1 Attachment(s)
Just got this thing together.
Board: Asus P8P67 WS Revolution BIOS: 1053 CPU Batch: LO40B705 S/N 35041346A1650 Not 100% done as I have some running around I have to do. Just have one stick of RAM right now waiting on RMA set to show up Quick auto tune results 4.533 Ghz at 70F room temp The H70 is a POS but not as big a POS as I thought it would be .... May be capable for it's it's intended use and decent to clock with outside |
What's the temps like with the H70 idle and load? I was thinking of getting the H60 when it drops.
That's a huge case! |
wow i love it...alu is shiny...i don't like black interiors
|
Intel CPU power saving BS still on
Idol: 22C (drops out to 1650 Mhz) 32M load & 4.533: 44C will do a 1024 load in a few Bigger case than I wnated buy it will have to do. mounting a handle on top and cutting a blowhole in the top eventually the 580's throw some serious heat :ohcrap: Thanks Honda brand new case. I forgot what a PITA it is working inside one |
My dilemma is I can install a lowrise CPU cooler, a Coolit ECO, Corsair H50 or H60 and that is about it. So thinking the H60 will prolly be my best bet.
I bet they put off some heat. Worried about that myself in my little arse case. Case allows for a GPU no bigger than 10.5" long and that is every bit of a GTX580! We'll see. You plan on a different case or going to stick with this? What handle you have in mind? |
Gotta say for a system that tight a one of these closed loop sytems may be the ticket as opossed to a pancake air cooler.
They are not great but preform on par with top of the line air Gettin rid of the heat the 580 will make will be paramount. \ This case is 15" high and 19" deep, going to roll with it Here are some I have been looking at http://www.reidsupply.com/Results.aspx?pid=10022021 |
Have you seen these?
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=23828 Expensive as all hell but you can put them together as one. My case is 14" high and 13" long!!! |
Is it the Nzxt with the built in handle ?
I was looking at that when I was thinking micro ATX ??? They look nice ..... they are expensive little bastards for sure ........ :ohcrap: |
Nope. I will give you one more guess, lol.
|
You could have used one of these and mounted the rad external... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811163112

LOL .......
I think it is the new Lian Li with the two fan front . http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112300 Here is the prime run |
Running some 3D tests to see where clocks are in this envioroment.
Sever artifacting at stock clocks .... took them out and rolled one at a time in and same shit ........... This is a bummer, MSI I think has gotten to agressive with these OC versions at 823 core Total bummer yet another delay. The Egg was cool and giving me a refund. So now I just have to decide on what cards I will go with ..... Anybody hear anything about who got the golden batch GPU's for the 580's .... So now waiting on RMA on memory and now GPU's to finish this build up .... O well, try to dial this CPU in while I wait ........ |
That sucks... you need my address so you can send me one when you order
|
No golden batch here. I can run 950 in some tests (01, pcm05) but usually 875-900 with up to 1.15 vcore. (stock cooler).
Actually I can higher core in heaven than in 06/Vantage |
Just hit the buy button on an eVGA vannila and got Mafia 2 and Just Cause bundled with it.
Once eVGA has them back in stock will grab theirs with 3D mark 2011 bundled ..... my grab two back plates as well, have to do some research and see if they help this card any. My old 295's they took 5C off loaded temps.... so will go with them for that typ of preformance if it ids there. |

First night I have had the time to play with this
How in the hell do you turn speed step/EPU off I have everything disabled in the BIOS everywhere I could find anything that reference EPU and all the Intel bullshit I grabbed a sceen at speed but it keeps jumping back to 16 .......... :ohcrap: Is their some kind of trick to it or something ?AKA Black Magic would be Kool Thanks |
disable everything in cpu configuration..
enable only speedstep and turbo.. there are also switches on the board... |
I will give it a go
Thanks Honda |
I disabled EIST... set.. max performance on EPU before disabling it.
|
Oh witchy... save your moneys. 590 is due out in a couple of months :D
heh heh |
Thanks Neuro, apprciated
590 aye ...... ? May hold out .... I will have to see what the step up program is .... |

Just dicking around and having some fun, Seem have hit a wall here
New BIOS is cool but will take some getting used to. Alot slower than conventional to set up and find shit Tommorow will be installing an XP partition to run some real 2D numbers I am liking this Sandy Bridge deal so far |
Nice, nice.
|
Getting my ass kicked here installing XP
set up files run fine, but when it goes to start XP to set up partitions it blue screens .... WTF Any ideas where I am going wrong here :Dizzy: Never have seen this problen before ??? |
ide
xp doesn't have the right stuff for intel ahci... |
Trid that already, with the same result .......... :Dizzy:
Any other ideas, Asus Tech support is clueless......... |
what blue screen error are you getting? 0x7f? that would be ahci not disabling properly. FLP installed in IDE mode just fine here.. then I installed drivers via device manager
editted reg and restarted into RAID mode |
Hmmmm.....
turned ahci off and put it in IDE ??? wonder why it would not work?? Wonder if 1253 is effed up. I'll try reverting back to 1053 and see if that helps Sucks man something as simple as an OS install being a pain in the ass :Dizzy: |
UEFI is weird. Setting something and restarting, powering off.. powering up making sure it stuck and restarting again might help...
This was true on mine from bios 808 1053 and 1253. |
you turn off sata6 usb3 etc?
no issues here on the deluxe variant |

Installing Tiny XP on a ssd and it took a couple of tries before proceeding. This is the damndest piece of hardware I've ever seen...don't know if its the chip or the mb.
|
WTF ..........
tried rebooting three times say IDE mode is on tried sata6 and usb 3 disable Have tried like 12 times now ............ :Dizzy: All same result STOP: 0x0000007E (0x0000005, 0xF748E0BF, 0xF78DA208, 0xF78D9F08) pci.sys - Address F748E0BF base at F7487000, Date Stamp 3b7d855c edit: Finally, formating drive :argh: fifth instalation disc, WTF , I know all of my disc's to be good .... This one was on a yellow disc, must like yellow I guess ........... Some funky shit going on with this new BIOS ........ :Dizzy: |
Having similar issues Bian - This thing is a killer of hdd's and ssd's...makes them unrecognizable in bios. Trying one last time with a Velociraptor.
|
if those drives that you guys are from a raid...you have to erase the raid info first...
enable raid ....and then ctrl+i and remove/delete raid |
Finally got it to take Brian - Used Tiny XP Rev09 #1. Guess you just have to keep swapping hdd's until it finds one it likes...what a pos.
|
Yea I got one to take as well, finishing up instalation now. Asus has to freaking deal with this bullshit, throwing an OS should be painless, it is the most redementary thing you can possible do.....
I had tech on the phone this morning and those clowns have no idea of the issues going on with these boards, or worse yet they don't give a shit ...... But will have to load it uop tonight when I get home, have some running around to do and was hoping to bench when I got home but now after all this stupid shit I will be stripping out my install and loading drivers ......... :flaminmad: |
So many problems, I don't get it :Dizzy:
|
you should give them your ud5....lol
