GTX 470 Voltage Mod
1 Attachment(s)
For all the following modifications, use multi-turn potentiometers for best control over the voltages. A suitable ground reference point would be the 12V PCIe power connector. Attachment 1988

I'm still waiting to see one of these bad boys modded.
The 480 is temp limited like the 200 series, but extra GPU voltage seems to help stablize high mem freq. I'd bet the 470 acts the same way. I wonder if vDDIC is tied in with the GPU core voltage. |

nice see you added the pll, any gains?
|
Watchya talking about "not pretty". That's a feast for the eyes. And you even used shrink wrap!
|
ummm, some tasty work there. This makes me want to plug my iron in and mod something.
|
Man you got some super clean joints!! How the heck do you get your joints solid enough to press eraser over them without breaking them? WTF am I doing wrong. Mine are always fragile as hell. You solder skills are pro for sure.
|
Nice work Hit, lets see that baby fly now. :)

I've grown fund of using 15w with Rosin-core for most VR and vMeasure points and 30w with Silver-Bearing solder for caps and inductors. I really need to spend ~100 bones on a decent 'tunable' station, but it's so hard when I could spend it on another GPU. Bought a GTX260 today. lol, shortly after replying to this thread.

hahahha
15w? what temps is this in celcius? i have a analog temp regulated cheap station... also 30w? 63/37 melts at what temps? the silver bearing needs higher temps i believe.....got info on the melting temps too? |
Couple more pics added to post # 6. Gave her some heat sinks on the mem and pwm ICs and installed the pot. I guess you can call it pron and she is ready to go.
|
Kool ass sinks on those two rams man, never seen those before, custom?
