2 K-Type Digital Thermometer w/ Thermocouple Sensors
1 Attachment(s)
I've been speaking some with Neuromancer at MSN.
He linked me this darn cheap Thermometer with Thermocouple sensors..Which I'm looking for and I guess many others.. Is there any chance this thermometer could read temperature range of LN2? LINK Specs: Brand new DM6802B thermometer with a portable 3 1/2 digit, designed to use external K-type thermocouple as temperature sensor. Description:

Most of your standard temp probes are not really accurate. The unit itself is probably fine, but the K-types that come with it need to be replaced. PM Splave if he does not chime in here...he might remember the source of those from sdumper.

To get really good probes will cost you a ton, they are not K-Type.
All the probes I have, maybe 8 total, 2 good ones and 6 cheaper ones all read just fine up to about -150c, good ones go to -180c. It doesnt really matter all that much tbh. If your chip CB's at -130c but your probe reads -128c it doesnt matter, it CB's the same anyway. Going to max LN2 temps for me when a probe only reads to -180c just means I pour more in. As the temps bounce around a lot you are not going to keep anything at exact temp anyway. |
it only says to -50c. here is a few on ebay

Jup, you are speaking the truth Buckeye.:) I made this thread to hear opinions from experienced people cause I don't know much about thermometers.
Looks pretty promising Gutterz, I just need a reliable meter that don't cost to much. If I could get meter that is good for -180 and avoiding the price of fluke or UFI I'm happy:D |
These are cheap and work great. I have one on the cascade...

Me too looking for a thermometer and thinking of picking the one you posted in the OP kritz. Let me hope its decent enough till around -150C. IMO we dont need accuracy but just a fair idea about the temps. the chip and mobo can handle stably....
