Default OH No not again. R3E Fail

Well i got my board all set up yesterday. I updated the bios to 704. I benched for about 1hr and the thing started acting up. On one bot Cpuz was reading the voltage and memory size wrong and on the next bot it was reading it right. Then all of a sudden it wouldnt boot to windows. BSOD. So i reset CMOS so it would boot up at defaults. Nothing...... black screen and couldnt get into the bios. I tried flashing the bios through Tweakit RC and it said the flash was succesful. But still nothing.
Ok now comes the fun part.
I get this when i boot into bios 1.
First picture. This just keeps scrolling down the screen. Even if i insert my USB.

I get this when i boot to bios2
Second picture. This dosn't scroll it just hangs there.

UPDATE: I just put my 920 in and it fire up int windows via both bios. Rut ro. gonna drop the 980 back in and see whats up. Keeping fingers crossed.

Confirmed 980 is dead.

I'm going to try. Man if anything can go wrong lately it will.

EDIT. Now IDK. I insulated up the 920. I went to the bios and setup some things rebooted and now this chip won"t boot. On either oone of the bios chips.Tweakit hangs on cpu_initial. Fuk i was just in wondows with this chip[ and my 5870. Now i'm gonnna wait until Tues for RMA and see if my Classified will boot these chips. Time to hang it up for the day before i toss this shit in the dumpster.

Ok Very weird. I took off my LN2 pot and all my chips boot now. This is totally off the wall. I have no clue now. I'm gonna go put up some siding.

To much weight and pressure on the socket Duke? If the board boarks and 1 pin of the cpu is not touching properly may cause the issues you are describing, may be worth a try...

Confirmed. After to talking to Bren he said the same thing. I might have been tightening the pot down too much. I tried again tonight and didn't tighten the pot down as much as i usually do and everything worked out good. I'm a bit afraid of it (Gun Shy) so i didnt go to far. But, i had it down to -160 and 6.3 ghz so it looks like that might have been the ticket. I'll give it a go tomorow night and see. I also flashed back to the 602 bios. IDK if that made a difference or not. I think i'll put the 704 on bios#2 and see if its a go. But right now i'm a very happy camper. I don't mind killing hardware as long as i know it was me. But when shit dies and i did nothing to make it die that i know of, i get really, really pissed.
