I wouldnt spend the money on an ebay es, too much chance that it has been beaten down already, or they were binning them and selling the losers.

Just my opinion

Hey Banik, don't do it bro. We are goin to start buying and cycling thru these retail chips shortly, just waiting on the stepping change or some retail results from outside the team. Deals on a retail gulfy for you are less than a couple of weeks away, from people you can trust, prices lower than retail, and a verified chip. Just be patient and pm me if necessary.

Newegg has been going up since the intro, up to 1299.00 now and ya gotta buy a Rampage II extreme too ... bastards

Microcenter at 999.99

Heard tales that these may be interim stepping and some patience may be in order though

Edit: ummm... $24.50 to fill a 35L that's after tax and all is included... think I'm getting a good deal

Duke said he was paying $ 1.06 a liter so I would say you are getting a heck of a deal bro ....

I agree .... if they come out with DO like stepping for this chip all the early adopters could find them selves getting smoked

Here is a retail result. Not to bad for the first session.

I guess 5.7-5.8Ghz is certainly not bad when it comes with the assurance of warranty,

It certainly isn't bad. Nice clock increase over 45nm generation. The problem is the 6.5+ ES results out there. :( Rumor has it though that there is a better batch coming out to retail soon. I think Supes mentioned this.

If my Server '08 32 bit would have played nice, that would have been about 51K or so. The chip ran well with only voltage adjustments until about -145 or so, going to do some more bios tweaking with Shamino's settings to see if it drops lower.
