Pre-ordered the motherboard, skipping the 4x SLI and opting for 3x or 4x 5870's here.

You've killed the GTX295 submissions anyway and unless the driver's define it as a 4 gpu setups, I don't think it'll count towards more boints in a new category.

The mobos will ship to preorder peeps in Oct. Im not sure when stock will hit other retail channels though.

Those 285's have 3 6-pin two for gpu and one dedicated for memory

prepare for some sick sick clocks I imagine. Evga came too late to the game with those imo, since 5870 gonna rock them hard.

Not to mention they have poor 4x scaling vs. ATI in all benchmarks except vantage.

I have a feeling unless you have a 5.6Ghz + CPU we are going to be bottlenecked badly with 4 cards. I hope not, but thats my gut feeling right now. I'm going to shoot for 3x and hope 4x works out.
