i thought i needed alot of volts

but got my MSI 9800gt and 8600gt only thing he was a smaoker and

they smell

so testing out the 8600 first

Reminds me of the 2900xt i bought... It's a winner, but smelled like maple syrup when I unpacked it...

i cleaned them with alcohol they still smell but not as bad, but im not a smoker and hate the way they smell, it makes my tummy hurt

okay i looked but didnt find any volt mods on the msi cards

Are they non-reference? Typically the 9800gt mods are pretty much the same as teh 8800gt... non reference will ahve to mapped out by our mod guru's...

Get a few good pics of the controller chips and create a thread in the volt mod section. Someone will know where the data sheet is and how to read it.

I finally got a little bench time and pulled a decent '03 .... after failing miserably at Vantage.

Looks like my "cherry" card isn't so cherry these days, but still managed 1220 core.

1200 core is still pretty damned awesome... You just gotta shake the dust off and you'll get back up to where you were

I had a fail session tonight. Only ended up with 1 sub for 5 whole boints.

Have some time today, Going to grab some Dice and take out the new V1 for a spin on this POS 960 ..... then it is coming out and going up for sale .....

worthless investment ..... May have a line on a good 975 though .....

Going to get bent over on this investment .....

Even wrapped up the Fat boy this morning and if 2D goes decent will take this 7900GS for a spin and see what I can scrong out of it ........... ..... My son Spencer is going to be my right hand man today as he has shown in intrest in this. He wants to Dice Dice Baby........... LOL
