they say if you put like 1.6vGPU they can die.

For the rest, the only thing i had of Lightning was the 5870, and i was not happy with it, back to nVidia.

Im at 1.63v all the time on mine and no problems, maybe a condensation issue?

Hope that lightning isn't really dead.

Sometimes when fiddling with DMM probes and plugging in the power plugs I tilt the front of the card out of the PCIE slot enough that I don't get VGA on boot. Thought I killed several cards over the last few months.....with miraculous resurrections.

I bring the dewars in on one of those luggage carts lol and yeah they get nervous as hell when I tell them what it is ... everyone thinks its gonna explode or something.


The card is alive! I took it apart and used a heat gun to dry it out thoroughly, and its all good ... had to be moisture its so friggin humid here, the card is dripping wet every time I bench. I'll see if it still clocks tomorrow.
