Looks pretty imaginative and dyi-ish but it looks awesome ! If it worked, that's what counts.

Might want to upgrade to a SATA HDD or a SDD. PATA's slow you down

Best way with REX and sub zero NB is to remove that whole POS assembly, and individually sink the mosfets around the socket and bolt NB cooler/water chiller block/whatever directly to the NB. You'll get a wider variation of mounting holes (pattern). The stock assembly sucks and has design flaws when the board flexes it shorts on some smd caps + its horribly inefficient . Crusty has got it goin on.
