It was a 1969. Bought it new for $3800 with the high performance 396/450hp engine and a high performance auto trans (turbo hydro 400 I think?). Pulled the engine out every winter and sent out parts for customizing. Put it back together in my bedroom one year, my mom almost shit

With an L88 cam and solid lifters the engine loaped (right word?) and the lifters made a racket when it idled
My friends used to call it the popcorn machine cause I always kept the lifters loose
I was parked in the local hang out one night and some kid in a Barracuda with 3 dueces pulled and asked me if I wanted to "race that pig". I said sure, but soon as I started the engine he just drove away
