*bah, never mind I know what I have to do. Pinch till it hurts and try to acquire one of the boards I can not afford. Sending my price/performance ratio into the toilet. Going to need a good board if I go chill water this winter can't mess around with something halfbaked

Bro right now the board people are craving about are the Classifieds. Other than that UD5.

Dunno, whats a throttle lock?
I have a jumper for x-cool
Some of the bios features have cooling mode 1, 2, 3.
Some other crap I disable in the cpu functions. bout it.

Is throttle lock like when you push hard on the gas pedal of a 00 Camaro SS and when you mind tells you you're going too fast and lift the pedal, your body doesnt listen?

Ah, in the inevitable car analogy... ok, do they have the ability to disable the governor

I know you are running classys so probably have no clue LOL

For us peons... its this annoying feature that drops your multi if your going too fast only enabled on some boards, even though it is a Intel specification and is supposed to be part of ALL x58 motherboards. Dunno which ones you are running personally (x58 or NF200) which was why I asked if it had it.

Dropped some bids on ebay. Even thought about trying to repair some damaged sockets, if I was still working at twotech I would definitely take the chance of being able to repair one. I do not have the gear here to do it. Plus I would have to give up coffee for a week, which I do not want to do either.

kal what he is referring to is that if all EVGA boards have a locked 21x multi when in turbo mode. Unlike some boards who will throttle back and forth from 21x to 20x even with all power saving features off.

Sort of.

It does not just drop to 20x, that is the beginning. Push it harder and it drops to 18x.

Meh, regardless I need a better board, everyone tells me my vcore is too high for a D0. If I do not push it that high it does not boot. Either my drop/droop is really bad, or what I don't know.

Going to list my mobo on Ebay tomorrow since the i7 is torn apart anyway And just get me a big boy board

I am not compalinign about my board, I am not even sure that it REALLY is throttling, but software seems to think so.

For instance

http://hwbot.org/listResults.do?user...plicationId=14

was running 21x for 4.5 Gigajoules i mean massive hurt. err megahertz but I hit print screen too early and CPUz did not have a chance to up it 21x yet.

I up it to 220 Bclcok it drops to 18x under load.
