				 Overclocking fail on Saturday.

So on Saturday I tried to take this quad core bio chip to a 300% Overclock.
I was only (of course) using liquid cooling, but failed to realize that 3 of the VCC lines were experiencing SIGNIFICANT vdrop. It was first thing in the morning, why I decided to go for broke at that point I am really not sure.

Well, I got stuck in a no post boot loop for a couple of minutes before I went into a system shutdown. Fortunately my sister was on her way over and brought some Technicians with her who were familiar with this type of no post situation.

They straightened it out with a 200 volt spike straight to the Vcc (that is CPU voltage) and my system returned to POST status at a much less impressive stock setting. Although all cores were not operating smoothly and significant hangs and stutters were experienced at the desktop level, certain lines of microcode were corrupted by the cooling failure, it was at least operating and allowing me to start running system recovery software.

I was fortunate I did not irrevocably damage anything, and after a couple of small upgrades to 5/8" ID piping, a silver coil to reduce future loop buildup, along with some new anti-malware solutions like a beta blocker (only running RTM software from now on), with proper usage I should be back in benching shape within a year.

There was consideration of installing a UPS system, but this chip was only 4 decades old and after further testing, it was determined that a few upgrades to the liquid loop were all that was necessary to bring this system back to normal operational status.

There are some other changes though and rather significant ones at that; it was long overdue and something I had pondered for a long time but I finally uninstalled smoke1pack.exe and extraCholesterol.exe.

I also had to trim a lot of lines of code out of my autoScript "salt.vbs" (It no longer runs on top of all other programs). In fact I have to go through all applications before installing them now to make sure they do not have their version of salt.vbs or the browser version sodium.js

I also have to rollback beer v12.0 all the way back to v1. So really why run it at all? I will considered returning to my roots of European Stout. Like Guiness 4.0, and just let that run over a weekend. But that will be a decision for Q2Y13 not at present.

So warning for all of you. If you have noticed poorer system performance lately, sluggish boot times, extra cycles necessary for recycle bin applications like fallleafcleanup.exe or if things get really bad and you notice can'trun3steps.sys in your task manager you really need to take your system to a certified technician and get your closed loop examined. ESPECIALLY if your parents PCs also have a history of running sluggishly.
