Default Gigabyte UD9 Motherboard Pictures Surface

Quote:
The much rumored Gigabyte UD9 that had once topped the Futuremark Hall of Fame a few weeks ago is finally beginning to show up in pictures all over the net. These pictures are showing this board being overclocked on LN2 with 4 GPUs. Many of the previous records that this board had set on April 1st unfortunately have already been broken by the ASUS Rampage 3 Extreme. As a result, we expect to see a new faceoff between the three enthusiast motherboard manufacturers in ASUS, EVGA and Gigabyte.

I just wish they would changed up their ugly arse color scheme as I really wanted to purchase a Gigabyte mobo this time but went with the Asus instead due to this.

I can't access your website so here is a pic for all to see.

Agreed. Even though colors don't make the board clock...it's still one ugly ass board. Thats about as good a color for a mobo as pink.

Banik...you won't be dissapointed with the Classy. It's a great board.

They might be a frog's hair closer than most boards, but that also may be their secret for efficiency. Shorter trace length to the memory controller.

I'd boil the efficiency down to tighter subtimings beyond what we can control in the bios, Classified's secret to success in the high bclk game. But the slots could be ten feet away from the socket homie and not make a nanosecond difference I'd chalk it up to design.

With that, has anyone seen these new boards from ASUS and Giga nailing some 920 action? The chip is far from obsolete, let's see if they can dance with the Classy.

While I would agree with ya, I do remember it was Asus I believe in s775 said that they tried to center the dimms as best as possible to the NB. IIRC, this was to improve latency via shorter traces. Very good chance that was all marketing hype though.

ROFL, 10ft traces.... If evga keeps growing the size of their boards that won't be too far off in the future.
