Well I think we pretty much have the issue pined down to aging caps on the secondary side of the PSU, (secondary side) being the lower voltage output side. I have ordered new caps for it, funny thing is EnerMax makes a good PSU! BUT on my PSU the primary side has RubyCon caps witch are high quality caps with a long life n lower ESR. On the secondary side they put cheap caps, witch are not quality and do not have a long life. All my parts cost about $15.00 as I broke a transistor while trying to read the spec's off of one of the caps that were under the heat sink, they are all quality caps i purchased with long life and low ESR ratting. We will then load test the PSU(with stuff I don't mind losing) to see how the 5v rail is doing and proceed from there.........
I ordered my stuff from DigiKEy witch is about the cheapest and has everything you may need when doing caps, these are also used for modding.
