For the record, I had to replace my old Viewsonic G800 21' CRT last March and got one of these:

No dead or stuck pixels so far and it looks really good. Virtually no lag that I've been able to see in games so far and the monitor has a variety of inputs you can use; DVI, VGA and HDMI so whatever card you might have should work with it. Plenty of menu options too and that's a plus.
Of course I'm NOT using the built in speakers - Not that desperate (Yet).

As for gaming, to me it's the perfect size, not so big you can't see everything within your field of vision yet big enough that you can see everything right down to the smallest details.

For under $200.00 it's a good deal.
