I'm not too familiar with Windows 7 Starter as is is only for netbooks. My guess is it is a slimmed and trimmed version of Windows 7. I would fire it up and see what it is about 1st. 1 GB of RAM might be all it needs as well as Starter Edition my suit that netbook just fine. Evaluate before you upgrade and update. Then if it needs more then upgrade and update.
