F verizon, if you get a new smartphone they require a minimum data plan (extra $20 month for 10mb or some shit). All I do is talk or text I dont need apps. :( We already pay $100 a month for 2 phones lowest minutes plan and unlimited text ftl.

My Dad had a phone and gave it to my Mom earlier this year. Full on smart phone, and because its not listed on Verizons site anymore...
No data plan required!!
I intend to get one just because its a decent phone and with 802.11 I can surf the web/email whatever from just about anywhere
Lots of mass transit come with 802.11 now, as well as restaurants coffee shops etc.
