 I want 2 ................. Just can't afford them :ohcrap: |
That's the twin frzr, just custom cooler on stock pcb
|
That bites, whats the point
|
So they can charge more for the non ref cooler :P
|
What's the point if it does not have the power features of a Lightning Series card. All this will do is devalue the Lightning brand, they would be better off marketing it as simply a Twin Frzr. Edition
Why would you throw away a great brand name like Lightning if it does not meet the requirments of that series. For many who do not do their homework will be pissed when they unbox this card. I see lots of returns coming for Newegg and Amazon Here is what is stated in the link, they must be misinformed "Moving on to the GeForce GTX Titan, the lightening edition of the GPU will be based on a custom non-reference PCB design. It will pack additional firepower, as MSI will couple more VRM phases along with a factory overclock, quite possibly around 1000MHz mark. You can brag hard with the GeForce GTX Titan lightening edition and break world records held by previous contenders in 3DMark Fire Strike, the tech demo would be bundled as a promotion with these GPUs" |
WD, the ones that don't do their homework won't have a clue they've been swindled cause theyl'll just be mounting it on their gaming machine and thinking how cool it is ... ignorance is bliss
EVGA did the same thing with the "Classified" cards too, slapping a different HSF and a slightly hotter bios on a ref card and jacking up the prices.. seems to be a trend :D |
the 580 and 680 Classy varients have a different PCB on them and better power at least ?
