Ever wonder what to do when something just decides to quit working? Motherboard quits displaying, memory controller go tits-up? Video card poop the bed? CPU clocked to death? Never fear... just head to the kitchen.

I have brought back:
4 mobos
2 video cards
1 amd chip, 1 intel chip
1 laptop mobo
2 ps3 boards
1 xbox360 board
1 lcd inverter

Just set the oven to ~175-190f anf set whatever in there for around 4 hours... then *ding*

Make sure to strip ant h/s, paste, and thermal pads.
No batteries!!!
Watch out for any soft plastics or rubber. jumpers seem to do fine.
Will not work on blown caps, scratched boards, or cracked boards (duh tard)
I prefer to bake on an upside-down cookie sheet. the transistors and chips on the back of the boards come out unscathed.

I have only failed on 2 mobos, one video card, and one laptop board. Looks like a sound recovery method to me! :cool: If it's dead, what do you have to lose, right?

I can say I never would have thought about or tried that....

Man won't that smell up the house? I prefer to go to the lake and practice skipping parts like rocks.

You know, it doesn't really smell that strong. I guess it's not hot enough to make them stinky

I tried this before about 3-4 years ago on an old artifacting 9800 Pro and it didn't work for me. I guess it could work if theres a broken trace or solder and the heat would re-solder it
