lol, I was just on their site and stumbled across these new 890FX boards. UD7 looks nice.

Arent they the last 800 series chipset manufacturer to have core unlocking?
Marketing is funny. |
Yeah that UD7 + 6 core looks very nice :)
I will be looking at that setup for a main rig replacement. New AMD is clocking very well on Air and Phase form what I hear. And could be new speed records on LN2 and LHe :) |
I see nothing listed on the 890FXs page about unlocks, but it does on the 870A.
If they had core unlocking on the GX boards, Id have one of them instead of this ASUS. |

I have been running a 975 setup for main rig and its pretty powerful, but to be honest a 6 core would be just fine and cheaper also for a gaming rig. I havent had a chance to try one with encoding and what not, but I dont expect it would be to far behind. Just about all my Intel stuff have been dogs at over clcoking tbh, but the X6 looks like it will be pretty strong. |
