The Joys of Pouring
 

Think I'm getting the hang of it now :) and what FUN!!

Saturday I poured two pots and started getting some good results with the CPU in the -125C neighborhood and the GPU around the same temp. Was getting too late though so I broke it down and went to sleep.

Yesterday was thinking my LN2 supply was a little low, so I used the CPU pot and the 5970 to run some aquamark in XP/Pro. Problem, as you know is the 5970 don't make you many boints, so next attack will be the frozen 5870 in XP. Used it in Win7/64bit with the new patch and it an, but it ran SLOW compared to XP... oh well.

Strange thing is, in Win7 I hit a CB arond -75C but got the CPU back when I topped it over -100C. Was good then until just a tad over -130~C. In XP I had no problem all the way up to -135C and really didn't try to go lower???

Did pickup a few boints in pifast and wprime, but nuttin to write home about. HEXT weekend when I have a full dewar though should ge FUN FUN FUN :D

Sounds like fun. I definitely need a couple more sessions to get my pouring down. I noticed I'm bad for jumping the gun on pouring and get it colder than I want. It doesn't make a big difference though since the chip had no CB.

Yeah its all fund to get it all figured out. I got rid of my dewars and went phase for now. ;)

pouring ....well some say its art..some say there is technique...when i was benching ln2 with v2-v3... cleaning a pot...makes some serious change to a pot....the f1ee was awesome when clean..you can control the temps...but the temp change wasn't fast as i wanted it...it was a thick base...

it just takes practice.

good to know you're getting used to it....we need to get you the right os for benching... :D

Got my p55 classy and 670 today, gonna install os with the phase on it, then my first ever pour will be this week, cant wait!!!

Yeah, my P55 Classy and 670 have been sitting in their boxes for months now :( Was going to use the SS on them but then heard ya gotta go LN2 to get the boints. SS isn't cold enough to get the speed you need lol Gonna do that soon though, already did the mobo volt mod to kill the CB.

Pouring is definately an art form, I'm not there yet but.. lol Got pretty animated as the temps went down farther than I wanted but .. phwew... didn't bug out on me :D

Trying to figure out what to do with my SS now ???
