22x Multiplier on i7 920

Someone asked about this last week? I can not find the thread at all (22x is not a valid search term)

Just thought I would start this thread and show that there is a glitch on some ASUS boards that allows 22X to be unlocked.

I tried it on the Classy with no luck

If we could get it to work it would be a boost for everyones CPUZ validations

i have seen some boards taht will doo it....

try dropping down to no HT and 1 active processor (core) see if you get a higher opotion?

Witchdoctor 02-28-2010 03:18 PM

Tryed that as well as each one of the C1E options as well

I know it can be done as I have seem some on the bot

I will have to go back and see if it is a paticular board or BIOS ???

but 5.3/5.4 vilidations for all would be a blast ...........

That was the only way I could do it. (single core)

The link i provided shows it being done at 4core 8 threads

And try and try as I did to get CPUz to show 22x when I had a i7... I could not get it to do so (even trying things like loading core0 and then opening CPUz)

Easy to do on AMD not working for i7. :(

ive seen some boards pull the trickery, but its just giving you the reading of the single core. the rest of them are not at 22x

Neuromancer 02-28-2010 03:31 PM

Nope.. but getting CPUz to READ 22x... reliably... would be huge :)

ReverendMaynard 02-28-2010 03:59 PM

how about a 23x multi?
