Afterburner Remove CCC Limits

  1. Go to installed directory of MSI Afterburner, default: C:\Program file\MSI Afterburner
  2. Use notepad to edit “MSIAfterburner.cfg”
  3. Change the parameter of “EnableUnofficialOverclocking” from “0” to “1”.

OK I changed this to 1..now at the risk of being a total noob...How can i tell it's been changed...Taller clocks???

Witchdoctor 01-05-2010 01:53 PM

It will let you surpass the CCC reference clocks as at 0 it defaults to CCC max clocks ....

I see where the AB gpu clock goes to 1090 instead of CCC 1000 but the memory clock on CCC goes to 1500 where the AB only goes to 1300.... This is with the 5970 ATI drivers

Hey guys I only had luck using this on the 5870's, not the 5970's...they don't seem to like it, must have something to do with the internal xfire chip. May have changed though with the new driver.

k I was just curious. I cant help ya cause Atm im installing my first ATI card . The differance between 140 an 141 is that 141 was to fix an issue with the msi n240gt d3 series according to guru3d

I think you are correct...also different clocks in CCC with the 5970...

I am not positive but i think I have a couple or maybe a few XFX5870's coming in the next day or two...I thought I was getting another 5970 but can only guess they are 5870's since atleast 2 are being sent...

I hope i don't have issues with the XFX 5870's..I know they are OCed but have read issues people were having with the OCed 5870's..

I have only used the Asus before and i think that is why i am going to receive the XFX 5870's....to compare....

I have to be careful because it was mentioned i was a bit of a ASUS fanboy...Don't want to get a reputation!!!:laughing::laughing:
