Technofront HWD Ultimate Acrylic Test Station & Accessories
Anyone see this and the accessories it comes with? Looks cool but I fear it being acrylic and not lasting as long as say aluminum or something.

That looks very nice.
I agree on the plastic, plus out where I live dust is a huge problem. It's bad enough keeping my TJ07 clean inside and the Black Dimas Bench Table. |
Yah, the big concern is the stripping of the accrylic screw holes. Easily done.

I doubt it has any inserts Jeff...they would have to ask like $500 for the thing then lol.
|
Well, I was wrong...it does indeed have inserts. Made a heck of a game rig set-up to boot.

dude i love bench stations!!! :good:
|
I like them for the ease of changing components.
Follows is a list of what I used for this one: Intel 965XE Evga 758 X58 Alphacool Liang pump Swiftech 320 rad Swiftech GTZ Apogee wb EK NB/SB/Mofset wb's Silverstone Decathlon 1000w WD 500GB - WD74GB Lite-On DVD Zotac 8800 GT (x2) Results so far... http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/q...2Sep070026.jpg I have since lowered voltages and will test later with HT on to monitor temps. |
|
I am too ghetto for something like that. I would rather have something that works well, looks like shit and only costs $20-30.
|
i like it alot and am very very "J"!!! :good: I want one! i want one! :clapping:

Does the X58 fit on this thing without having to mod it? Any pitfalls or must do mods for this one?

The standard X58 should fit as it is a standard ATX. It is the Classified where you might run into problems as it is an extended ATX.

In looking at it again. It looks good, but I agree definitely that aluminum would be better. Still light weight, but more importantly, simple to mod. $30 worth of parts gets you a power drill a bit and a tap and die. On sale of course, and not a drill that you will end up having long if you do anything around the house. |

And why would you want an aluminum tech bech?? If i want aluminum I would have bough a normal case not a plexy one:thumbsup: |
Glad you like it, many others agree, which is why there are so many plastic test stations to choose from. I prefer something a little more controllable. (I have not had much luck in working with plastic/acrylic/plexiglass)
