The Swiss cooling solution provider ARCTIC COOLING today unveiled the new premium thermal compound ARCTIC MX-3 (4g). Its high thermal conductivity and non-curing nature make it one of the best thermal compounds for overclockers and gamers.

As an upgraded version of the award-winning ARCTIC MX-2, the performance of the ARCTIC MX-3 outranges other well-known thermal compounds clearly. This new compound is composed of carbon microparticles which lead to an extremely high thermal conductivity – 8.2 W/mK. It guarantees that heat from the CPU or GPU can be dissipated quickly and efficiently.

Oh really... I liked the MX-2. It and OCZ Freeze are my choices.

Kal-EL 07-02-2009 04:16 AM

I was thinking to pick up a tube and see what wha.

DrNip 07-02-2009 05:09 AM

I will be pickin one up when I run out of current stock. Need to time it around when I am pickin up some other hardware as I hate payin more for shipping than what the product cost. I can only imagine if you were to just buy this and what the shipping would be on it!!! :rroulette:

Read a little closer here.......

"CARBON PARTICLES" (sounds like IC Diamond TIM with a different name to me)

Diamond is pure carbon and has the highest thermal conductivity.

You love IC Diamond don't you :p. Do you use it for the ss too?

Neuromancer 07-05-2009 08:37 AM

Ugh, got a test sample of IC7 Diamond a while back, using that stuff is like trying to spread hardened cement.

could never get it thin enough on my IHS, looked like I had a slice of cheese on there...

Yes.....I always use IC Diamond on the SS.

I know alot of you guys like IC7 but i found minimal difference between IC7 and OCZ freeze..... and im sorry if you get a hernia pushing it outta the tube it aint worth it to me :Dizzy:

Its not even that hard man. Stop creating Vapor hate on IC7. Just because you have girly Palmolive hands that can't squeeze the plunger doesn't mean there arnt real "Man" clockers out there. :rofl

Damn hawaiian gorillas getting cocky

I've been using the MX-2 for quite a while now, if the MX-3 is similar I will use it too. One thing I really like about the MX-2 is how malleeable it is, suitable for use on video cards, chipsets etc anywhere you don't really want to use the excessive force neccesary to spread something like IC7.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

And by the way...you aren't supposed to try to spread it out.

DrNip 07-05-2009 10:43 AM

I've bought a total of three IC7 Diamond tubes in my life. The 1st tube wasn't too hard to work with. The other two now, were a different story and the last one being harder than a mutha to work with. I have had MX-2, OCZ Freeze and IC Diamond and saw no difference in the three on chipsets, CPU's and GPU's. If I were to chose, I would chose the easier to work with. That being MX-2 and OCZ Freeze.

Neuromancer 07-05-2009 02:08 PM

I only got the tube of IC7 from the prerelease giveaway.

Gotta say that shit was harder than a virgin in a whorehouse.

I'm a puny 6' 225# and I thought I was going to make the damn syringe explode (Or my thumb bone shatter) trying to expunge that not better performing stuff.

I am surprised you extreme coolers even heard about it.. hell it was that hard at room temp...
