For Those Looking... (gpu's)
Not sure if anything like this has been posted yet
This is for those who are looking at buying a new graphics card, but are not sure what exactly to get. My first advice would normally be to tell you to pick a price first, then check websites like newegg, tigerdirect, etc. for the gpu you want. Anyway have another site for you guys to check out. Been using it for about a year. They take graphics cards (factory clocks/overclocks only) & bench the crap out of them. They use mainly benching utils like PassMark - G3D Mark... and they pretty much update on a daily basis - which is cool. I especially like this when pricing cards/tech as in comparing, I [or you] can tell which gpu would give you more bang for your buck. Enjoy! here it is: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html |
Wrong forum bud. We are a team of Overclockers/Benchmarkers. We mostly neither care about the price, nor benching utilities like Passmark, G3D Mark. All we care for is the scores in various 3D Mark applications, :D

None the less, informative. Thanks for posting.

This post isn't about benching, but for those who are looking at buying/switching gpu's |
Great info. Thanks for sharing!

I remember looking thru this site before. Are you affiliated with these guys somehow?

Though no doubt informative for the rest of the world, and as supportive as my teammates are, for them, :P but the fact is we are/our team is all about benching, :D |
You two know each other or sumtin? :wtfsign:
banik! :smackbum: play nice with the new kids! Cyberjackal, same question as my brainiac brother "are you affiliated with that site?". Also, are you familiar with hwbot.org? You can view our team and their progress with performance benchmarks here: http://hwbot.org/community/team/ocalliance The more common benchmarks we normally compete with are listed here: http://hwbot.org/benchmark.do However, we are never opposed to using a new or different benchmark application in the course of our endeavors to reach the pinnacles of pc performance. Kal :cool3: |
wow nice 995x benchmarked....cool site

lol sorry didn't mean to sound aggressive. I was just trying to explain my reasons for posting. It was just meant as an informative post for anyone. If you don't want to use my information or advice - then don't. Advice can be taken or ignored... wouldn't bother me either way. I haven't seen any posts like this one, so that's why I decided to go with it.
And nope I do not know banik at all... As for being affiliated with that website, that's a big "NO". Just use that website for performance info from time-to-time. And as for knowing about hwbot.org - nope I've overclocked a bit in the past, but actually don't know much about benchmarking - I know how to do it, just not which programs are better for certain things. Only used a couple basic 3D apps like 3D Mark & such in the past. Trying to learn more - especially w/ my upcoming rig. Guess that's why I'm here. |
man if you're near microcenter..... bench that amd right now..
...and buy an intel sandybridge package @ microccenter..and see why oca..guys are jumping all over sandybridge :D |
+ 1 they are getting agressive with their pricing.
CJ, you have come to the right place to learn about benching and hot rod rigs There are some of the best in the buisiness here Honda was at MOA along with many of our team. Rom and Splave took first place and Dentlord and Patch took second both teams qualifying for the world Championship So read up and soon you will be in the know about this benchin deal Basically push your parts till they start to bleed .............. |

You also must not be a "Shameful Lurker" (post count has to be a bit higher to be considered as user titles change with post count) Here are the general rules on the hwbot team http://www.overclockaholics.com/foru...hread.php?t=20 That said, its always exciting taking on a new team member here at OCA and we love the new bloods as they help foster the fever. We have private sections dedicated to helping each other get the most from benchmarks, tweaks, 3rd party overclocking apps, custom built operating systems, you name it. So, I hope you stick around and while you're getting your post count up, get to know the team and community you're about to join forces with ;) . In the mean time, any help with hwbot benchmark apps you may need, we're here dude :D. |
