LOL, should be a killer setup. Hopefully they don't try and price this thing at $1000+ though.

I don't see them pricing it equal to or cheaper than UD9. Gigabyte makes some super nice and efficient boards. Great benching boards on the X58A line up too. But their pricing on UD9 just through me for a loop. I still don't understand what they were thinking?? :Dizzy:

Oh gosh, no way it could be a Sandy Bridge dual socket UD11 motherboard.

Are they making dual DMI/QPI or whatever in the hell they call it for SB, CPU's? That would be awesome though. Wait Mr. worldwide networker.... did you already know about this through your massive list of industry insider contacts? :P

*facepalm* I would like to publicly announce that I am a complete moron. Thanks to K404 for pointing out that it says "latest 6 series chipset" right on the damn box.

Kal-EL 12-21-2010 08:33 AM

I'm not under nda so I can say that they have quad socket capability. That is all...

Chuchnit 12-21-2010 08:35 AM

Seriously??

I did not see that. I do see 2x CPU power on it though and 2X also listed down in the corner.

If it is 6 series... it will be a beast. Find it hard to accept though they will have duall 1155 before socket 2011 comes out :ohcrap:

Hondacity 12-21-2010 09:54 AM

if this is true...16 threads is gonna prawn!!!

I missed it too. It is in very very small font compared to the marketing jive all over the box. I just don't see Intel releasing daul DMI 1155's. It doesn't make sense, but Intel confuses the hell out of me anyway with some of the stuff they do.

I did think for just a second about the X68 chipset but it seems just too far away to be showing boards with retail ready boxes.

Well if what is rumored and has been told to me, 1155 pretty much makes X58 a waist of money for gamers. For gaming use it will pretty much be "the platform" but it won't carry the enthusiast tag. The power draw is almost nothing, the efficiency is out of this world for single threaded stuff. The only limitation is PCI-E lanes for exotic VGA setups.
