Chuchnit 04-21-2010 09:01 AM

EDIT: looks like the 8316 is the 6 phase, and the 8266 is the 4 phase.

Nice find. I'll look at this.

ReverendMaynard 04-21-2010 09:09 AM

So what I've read so far is that the 8266 is a slightly modified 8316. So as far as shit goes spliggity, they should pinned the same.

Splave 04-21-2010 09:26 AM

damn this is crazy shit what pin I have no clue, pics in this pdf thanks for that revzor!

ReverendMaynard 04-21-2010 09:30 AM

pin 4 vcpu maybe? All speculation on my part home slice lol.

Chuchnit 04-21-2010 09:30 AM

God bless!! Can you tell where the mod is? OVP pin???

ReverendMaynard 04-21-2010 09:34 AM

looks like anything 'GAMER' related is for OCP/OVP but it's a serious effing chip there.

So this can all be controlled via GUI?

I was thinking that too :Dizzy:

HITandRUN 04-21-2010 10:13 AM

I dont have time right now to mess with this but compare pins on the 470 and see what shamino did there. 480 should be similar.

Patch 04-21-2010 10:44 AM

That looks like it may need a VID mod, not a FB mod.

On the 5870 Lightning, a vcore hard mod requires cutting off the link between up6225 and up6266 to give direct feed voltage to the processor without going through 6266. Then moving the vid resistors around the 6225 to change vid.

Don't know if the 480 situation is analagous, but maybe someone with more circuit knowledge than I have can use the info.

Hope somebody cracks it before mine arrives.

Splave 04-22-2010 03:57 AM

I guess sham is releasing the mod "soon" its under NDA?$@!?

Dentlord 04-22-2010 04:46 AM

I hope its something I can handle!

8266 is a 6 phase similar to the 8316 but different.

I believe it is pinned slightly different.

Not uncommon for a data sheet to be under nda

karmakazi 04-23-2010 08:40 AM

Yeah guys, if shamino violated NDA on it he could potentially be sued or lose his job. Its no joke, thats why gtx295 mods were scarce also.

For instance Volterra regularly sues ppl who violate NDA, just google it.

The voltage tools will work but are currently limited by something else.

I just did and aside from infineon suing them for patent infringement, the only thing I can find on it is you saying the same thing on XS about the 295. Not doubting you but googling is not returning any useful results. Maybe I need different keywords other than volterra NDA lawsuit? (Or volterra sues NDA)

looks like w1zzard is working on a fix. Might want to hit him up with a pm at XS or TPU and see if you can test his fix.

It says its not a valid win32 exe. is that because im on 64 bit? Duh

Kal-EL 05-10-2010 07:07 PM

I haven't had a chance to test it just yet to see whats up. Tried it on my 64 bit 24/7 system, same error.

Use compatability for xp32 or vista32..... It should work... Try running it from the desktop or the root of the partition and see if that helps too.

Splave 05-11-2010 03:02 AM

holy fuck this could be epic

Yes, SpligdiggityRomdog, this could be quite "earth shattering"! Buwahaha!!!

Splave 05-11-2010 03:50 AM

"don't forget the /fixcoldboot command line parameter "
