EVGA X-58 RMA Poll

Lets see how durable these boards really are......

Dentlord 04-08-2010 02:03 AM

Well, I killed a non-classified e758 with condensation after a DICE session.

HOWEVER

The 759 in my gaming rig has been through hell and back, including a coolant leak that had my socket FULL of liquid ... BSOD, dried it out, and never had a problem after lol.

The 760 I bought at Frys (which was zip-tied to the wall as their display model) has been packed, unpacked, insulated, uninsulated, frozen, thawed, massively overvolted, and generally abused like only a man moving from hotel to hotel setting up and benching can do. And it still runs like a champ!

762 is brand new, but I expect nothing but the same high quality from it.

Kal-EL 04-08-2010 02:06 AM

My only rma was a wacked out of the box 759, rma was fast and easy, really fast and really easy actually. Bound to have a wierd board in there somewhere. My 762's have been pushed crazy hard thru the warm up, cool down cycle and not a single issue to date. One board is faster than the other tho so go figure :P

Chuchnit 04-08-2010 02:20 AM

I overclock like a girl :P

Witchdoctor 04-08-2010 02:47 AM

I killed a 758 with condisation .... got a new onr though

My 760 has taken major abuse and is still kickin .... knock on wood

That thing runs for 10 to 14 hour bench sessions no problems ...

EVGA = High Quality here in Lancaster

DrNip 04-08-2010 03:03 AM

Classy was tough as stuff until it ate my 4 GB's of my RAM a couple months ago. Did it cruising the web too. Figured it would have been one of the times I took it to hell and back. RMA was top notch.

Splave 04-08-2010 03:03 AM

I had a 759 that had the dreaded loose bios chip, other than that I have pretty much folded this 762 into a paper airplane and back and its been a tank.

FACE 04-08-2010 03:07 AM

No problems from my classy... the damn thing is a beast.

ReverendMaynard 04-08-2010 03:34 AM

not a single issue with my 760. 2nd best board that I've owned.

Hondacity 04-08-2010 05:00 AM

out of 8 mobos i purchased the last 2 years..its the best....had like 40+ remounts...with dice and watercooling.

Gutterz 04-08-2010 05:15 AM

I havnt RMA'd it yet. 1 year old this month.

2chesapeakes 04-08-2010 05:56 AM

RMA'd a 760 due to a bad ram slot

Buckeye 04-08-2010 06:06 AM

Over time the 790i boards have been the worst, none survive to this date out of the two I had.

The X58 SLI is now gone as it had so many isuues it just became too frustrating to continue using it.

The Classified I had also had many issues that again I became just too frustrated to continue using it.

Why didn't I RMA these boards ?

Some I did and I think EVGA support is great.
But after awhile having to RMA very expensive boards just becomes to much. I think in tge end I spend allmost as much shipping crap around then I pay for the product in the first place.

So I no longer run any EVGA boards, or have any in the house.
Sorry my friends who work at EVGA, support is the best tho !

On the flip side I have had only 1 Giga board that needed RMA out of the many that I have had, and that was a pre-release board that was used for testing.

I still have 2x 9800gx2's that I have to look at :(

759 and 762 still going strong. But I overclock like a girl.

Classy p55 is still around but I haven't bothered to get another chip to tell for sure if the last i5 670 is dead or the board........

That was the problem. No RMAs here but I use conformal coating on the boards.

I overclock like a girl. no RMA on my old e758.

karmakazi 04-09-2010 05:49 AM

I have BEAT my 759 like a red headed stepchild, and its still going. at least 15 LN2 sessions, high volts, sloppy insulation, and its still going without a hiccup.

Used my 760 quite a bit too and it took abuse like a champ I had since sold it, and the new owner killed it, so I RMA'd for him. No problems with his new one

If your losing ram channels its most likely due to bent pins or bad cpu-pin contact.

Love evga boards and support, they just need better pi efficiency :D

yea man, a Classy with the pi efficiency of a Giga X58 Extreme would be killer.

My original 759 was awesome, till a ram slot went dead. RMA was smooth and fast. Had to RMA the second 759 due to pure stupidity but still have my original 769.

I've watered and frozen them both, and they continue to perform like champions.

My 762 will be delivered Monday morning (the 12th of April), and it's going straight into the deep freeze.

My P55 Classy is still in the box :ohcrap: but I'm itching to get it and the 670 frozen too sometime soon :Dizzy:

Work has kept me out of town and away from my boards too much as of late, but can't say enough for the Classified's I have owned, or for EVGA who makes them and stands behind them

Kind of miss my RIIE (it was my first X58 board), but would never change back cause it didn't give me the versatility that the Classified's do.

Classified board sale coming sometime soon, only because.. who really needs 4 different models at one time :taunt:

Thing is... I don't want to give any of em up :confused1:

:morpheus:

karmakazi 04-12-2010 06:10 AM

Let me know when you wanna dump em off. Might grab the 759 and/or p55 classi

Kal-EL 04-12-2010 08:27 AM

Karma, I might have a spare 759 for you buddy, lemme know if you're interested.

69_Goat 04-12-2010 09:00 AM

2 EVGA RMA's so far.

Once for my 760 and once for a DOA p55 Classy.

Lately I've been overclocking like a girl.

RomDominance 04-12-2010 12:01 PM

uncore really isn't defined by the motherboard though, it's all in the cpu :)
