GTX480 pre-order!
|
So how many did you pre-order ?
|
Looks like this card may be a POS
Not buying anything until some retails hit the streets and we can see what is really up from the 480 thread sounds as if the 5870 will destroy this thing and god help nV if they kick out a 5890 ..... But retail will tell the story very soon so I am on the sideline for now Mega bummer |

Yea I think pre order would be a mistake ....
|
Waiting on Shamino's Classified version...
|
We have plenty of time ahead of us getting our lightnings to work correctly, heh Mike?
|
They may be a global moot point if ATI drops a 4890 type upgrade at the 5000 series
All pending what the 480 brings to the table |

Assuming that nV takes the crown that is a logical responce
If they don't and the 5870's are still fastest then ATI will certainly milk us for everything we are worth If I were them and that is the case I would ship overclocked AKA SOC/Lightinings to us idiots untill they milked every drop of cash possible.... then I would pull the trigger on small incremental upgrades just large enough to pull the globals off the table making the community that want's global boints belly up to the bar as many times as possible till nV has a respecatable responce This is why it is so paramount that nV has something here as if not ATI will hold all the cards and with no competion they can put the screws to us :ohcrap: |

Ahhhh............
Those bastards .............. LOL |
I can't wait to get back benching on some nV gear. Love their drivers.
|
Yea me to Rev... just hope it is fast enough for some global goodness....
|
They could be 50% slower than Ati's gear right now and I'd still be excited for something new.
|
Looking at the specs... for desktop users the 470 looks to be the card to buy. about -10% cuda cores running at +20% speed over the 480 (unless it was a typo in the specs)
For benchers of course. the 480 ;) |

2 5870s loaded uses less power than a single 470 OMFG
(and looks like like it handles the 480 pretty well on performance wise in games I heard of :) ) From what I can tell from those reviews. 2x 480 > 5970 480 = 5870 5850 > 470 |
