Wow ........ makes me want to jump on the 1156 wagon
Now what do I do? .... grab the i5 or stay on track for a 32nm i7 budget edition ......LOL |

I'm pondering on doing both.... I'm wanting a 661 anyway, and that and a p55 ftw are ~$400 at the egg. By the time a lower end 32nm 1366 drops I'll be ready.
I could go with a gpu instead of 1156, but I want to play in 6ghz land NOW.... it just seems like it would feel more rewarding to beat up on i5 chips. Plus I'll have an excuse for dual bench setups... :ohcrap: |
thinking about doing the exact same thing FACE.
|
My first i5 died during my first session with them, and so it has happened with many others, these are pretty delicate proccies that Intel has started to make, dunno whats up with Intel, they are so easy to kill, :p.....And to add to the wound, Intel service centers do not have them in stock for RMA, :(
|
buying requires strategy guys....don't overspend or else get broke..and waiting is just a killa
@thebanik what was your vtt and vcore? |

@-115 and i assume you used ceramique?
|
Not cold enough Ban, need to run it right against it's cb, should be -140c or lower.
Nothing wrong with Ceramique either, works great for me. Vtt should be at 1.575 at 2:6 and slightly higher for 2:8  http://overclockaholics.com/forums/s...7&postcount=12 |
increasing Read to Write and Write to read as well as jacking up the trfc to 88+ helps as well.
|
old stuff but....sorta confirms the i5 655k...
