Ok Shamino has officially stated that there will be a non-nf200 version of the Classified. For those of you who aren't into the whole Tri-SLI thing and want this board that would be the way to go. Sham also said it will follow very very soon after the original Classified is released.

Any problems arrise with this classified mobo yet? This non-nfarce board, is it supposed to be economic, better performing or just an update of the original x-58?

I always liked EVGA because they back up thier warranty......I just got to hating nvidia after the 780is so I went RED.

I'm really starting to think the same way.... For what it costs for the crap they are putting out these days.:mad:

After doing some reading on other forums it si starting to looks like another 780i nightmare.

I wondered if I was the only one that was reading things like that.

Jeff, what he means by "Intel" isn't that you need to purchase a motherboard manufactured by Intel. He means a motherboard based off the Intel design without the Nvidia N-force 200 chip. Asus, MSI, DFI, Foxconn, etc, make Intel based motherboards for the Kentsfield and Yorksfield Intel, or lets say socket 775, which is what you're looking at with a qx9770 or 9650. These Intel, socket 775 motherboards can't do Nvidia SLI but can do ATI crossfire and x-fire.

If we're talking socket 1366, or Nehalem, it doesnt matter because all the x58 or 1366 chipsets do both SLI and ATI configurations. Nvidia and Intel negotiated for the use of SLI on Intel based chipsets.

I don't what nvidia is smoking these days but they seem to be a lot more interested in covering their bottom line than anything a customer wants or needs...As a business they are fools to only choose the first option there since ultimately they are only defaming themselves.

Man people are havin problems with the nb on these things. Glad I stepped outside my EVGA bubble this time, stepped right out into another nightmare!!!

IMHO all these people need to do is treat it like any other mobo and retim the damm thing. Everybody that I've seen stateing that they redid the tim had temps fall by 15 to 20 C. I retimed mine as soon as I got it. The tim they had on there didn't look to bad but why take a chance. Granted a board that costs $450 should be good to go but I've never seen a board that couldn't benifit from a little tender care.

True, but, it seems Hallowen over there has been having a hell of a time and on his 3rd classified rma already. He seems like a really competant person so I'm a bit leary.

I gave up on EVGA mobos after the 790. True I never had problems but I fear that I would if I stayed at it. Then I go get DFI and have a whole new set of problems so what can you do. I just needed to step outside my EVGA box as that was the only manufacturer I was buying from.

I hear that, I've kinda gotten into a rut as far as Evga goes. Probably time to try branching out. I'll feel like a kid without my security blanket.:rofl:rofl

I checked the EVGA website every night until... suddenly the Classified was available so... I BOUGHT ONE!! Got number 0167 of the limited edition :) Now that they're gone and I'm pissed at my R2E I wish I'd gotten two :(

At the same time, I was watching the the 285 hydro coppers that were also "coming soon" but had totally talked myself out of buying them... too much money. Then one night I checked and they said "BUY NOW"... SO I DID :rofl So much for self control :(

What about a 780i nightmare ??? I have one with a little Q9450 C2Q on it that I was thinking of watering and tri sli'ing to see if I could get boints out of it ... second time I've heard tell of this nightmare but no details :(

Do know it took me 3 tries to finally get a board that worked :p

I had both the 780i and 780i FTW both working and fully functional with a C2Q Q9550 @ 4.0Ghz, but the performance was lacking beyond words with TRI-SLI GTX280's. There was such a hinderence in performance from what I guess was memory and C2Q not being able to let the GTX280's stretch their legs. Not something I was happy with I sold a GTX280 and kept two ever since, but upgraded other stuff in the process. :D

I was thinking of using 3 old 9800 GTX+ I have sitting around with the 780, may not be such an issue then?

Classified is the most solid mobo I have ever seen , ıt's just awesome:thumbsup:

I can't get past 4.2.

I haven't been subzero on the classified yet, but I find it a very user friendly overclocker. Ya just gotta take it slow and steady. Could be your chip too???

Yeah I guess it could be the chip, but from 4.2 uncore to 5 uncore is a big difference. You think it's suzero temps?

The Classified is great I have no complaints or regrets. Best board I've own to date.

Oh I didn't think you were talking about uncore. 5ghz uncore is pretty much not happening on anything less than sub-zero.
