DrNip 09-17-2009 05:03 PM

Sweet...

punx223 09-17-2009 08:31 PM

wow dude let us know how it runs, wonder how it will measure against PII?

I thought the athelon II was REGOR core?

Ol'Bud 09-17-2009 09:22 PM

There are Propus and there are Regors.

This is a Regor that I just got today by UPS;

ADX245OCGQBOX
SN:9303047G90414

tHAT'S OFF THE LABEL ON THE BOX.

On the CPU:

ADX245OCK23GQ
CAEEC AE 0925FPEW

Sweet archer. 4 GHz on air though, going to be tough. I do not recall the Biostar having that high of a HTREF capability. Going to need to push over 300 MHz on it. Hmm but I was on AM2+

OK! Now I am Pi**ed!!! Why is it that every review I see has no mention of the NB?

Does anyone have an idea about NB multi manipulation? I have read enough to see that the guys writing the reviews don't take the time to list all information.

The main reason Archer is AMD chips require a lot more tuning than Intel. Things like NB Freq, Ram timings, Ram speed, HT, and Drive Strengths all play an important role in settings, plus voltages.

Its very hard to say that this and that will get you that high OC.

I can do a guide on that if its requested or needed. It was not easy for me to figure out and took a long time, but keeping at it testing this and that to see how things work paid off in the end.

I may do things the hard way but it ends up pretty darn stable.

Give me some time and I will do a write up.

Well I only have that one bitch. I have seen the NB as a limiting factor when all else is eliminated. The NB is the issue I have with my 7750, I like to lower the multi (wont work on 7750) and not put unnecessary v to it when not needed. I hate the heat gains.

My 905 is great as I can adjust everything.

Neuromancer 09-20-2009 12:28 PM

Oh yah, I have yet to play with DQS settings, adjusting skew however made a huge improvement OCing my AMD chips.

Guess I will have to sit down and learn the right DQS settings for my 920, see if I can get an extra 100 MHz or so out of her :)

WOW. Very nice :) What adjustments you have to make for 300 HTREF :)

Also have you tried unlocking the L3 cache yet?

I will be taking a 2nd look at this CPU with a AM3 setup and 2 gigs DDR3 1333 memory Vista 32, I will be using 2 Gig's because of better stability.

My test results will be Posted @ tR as usual and then I will post some here afterward.

Test will be done on the following:

MSI 785GM-E65 AM3 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - 140W CPU Capable, 1Gb DDR3 SidePort Memory, Easy OC switch

G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL8D-2GBHK - Retail

Vista 32

I will post a link to the new testing when complete.
