Come on Dinos post a new score up :p

dinos22 06-30-2009 03:33 AM

it all depends on Asus 4870(Matrix Ed.) on LN2 that has up to 1.65v on core and 1.8v on vmem through software

if i do manage 1100+ core i think it would be pretty easy to hit 91K+ single and 94K+ dual

http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/3...llenge9111.png

you can see that system settings are nothing special :D so more system power will make this a fair bit higher hehe

but Monstru, hey and greek boys are very very very good tweakers
i definitely have nfi how they pulled off some of those scores from past comp

ReverendMaynard 06-30-2009 03:35 AM

Your chase high is insane, 80FPS on me. Care to divulge how the hell you get it like that? :)

dinos22 06-30-2009 03:41 AM

ATI is stronger in some tests and weaker in others ;)

Kal-EL 06-30-2009 03:49 AM

second post has them, first post asks for discussion items to go into the discussion thread

I noticed that :) Does this translate over to other cpu tests like in 06 and Vantage or is this just an 01 thing? I'm thinking of selling these 285's and grabbing 3 4890's for sh*ts and giggles.

dinos22 06-30-2009 03:54 AM

last single card comp was won by nvidia GTX285
you are on around 89.4K if you can hit nature cap so there is still some more tweaking there but you are doing pretty good for someone who just started getting into it mate :)

ATI's achillies heal is nature with nehalem so thats the major issue right now for going red

[edit] yes CPU test in '06 for example will change a lot depending on which card you have (nvidia or ATI) and also which OS you are on and what GFX card clocks you are on :)

dinos22 06-30-2009 03:57 AM

sorry last time i checked they werent active

Kal-EL 06-30-2009 04:00 AM

the top 3 are. As new higher scores come in it'll bump the top three down and it will be the top 5,6,8 etc.

Try to click on the score, should take u to the screeny. Gonna move these posts out to the discussion thread, makes it easier to sift thru the submissions for me. Lemme know over there.

A link to the discussion is in the first post.

This might be my first runs on 01 with the i7 but I'm not just getting into it lol. Do I come off that noobish? ;)

Nature cap is going to be tough on stock air but I still have some rabits to pull out of my hat so we'll see :)

dinos22 06-30-2009 04:09 AM

sorry
i assumed you just started getting into '01 seriously
:)

ReverendMaynard 06-30-2009 04:44 AM

I'm just in it for the fun, not really the serious type :D

hey 06-30-2009 05:25 AM

btw, it says

"## Only one prize per entrant. You may run multiple systems but will only be able to redeem one prize for top scores in that category."

so only one price we can get ? hımhımmm so running single or multi only is more logical :(

Kal-EL 06-30-2009 05:29 AM

Yessir, if you win both categories single and dual (You're the f'n MAN!)
you can only redeem one of the categories prizes and must choose between the F1EE+2tek9's or the single F1EE cpu kit.

I wonder which one will be more sought after?:Dizzy:

Irregardless, just have fun with it guys. Top scores, bottom scores, experts, noobs, whatever. its overclocking, its supposed to be a blast!

Mean Machine 06-30-2009 05:38 AM

Wait, what, I thought both categories had the two Tek9's as a prize... Is it just the dual one that has it?

Vivi 06-30-2009 05:43 AM

true, taking both prizez will just be greedy :D. 2 F1EE's com'an!

you can still WIN both catagories tho.

and it will be logicall to enter both comps, as you know how many backups get played at the last minute :). and if you only entered one side you could loose out

Top single card score wins: F1EE cpu kit
Top multi card score wins: F1EE cpu kit + (2) Tek.9v5's

Mean Machine 06-30-2009 06:17 AM

Yeah, I should really start paying more attention. :D

Forgive my idiocy.

Well, I gotta order the LN2 first. Or to be honest, I actually need a motherboard first. Then I need a graphics card...

Dinos, how well do the slim pots swing compared to his old fatty's? Do you have tek 5's yet dinos?

I'm not Dino, but....

I have a Tek 3 and 4

Tek 4 is all but the same as a 5, just the 4 is for the 9800GX2 where as the 5 is for the GTX295 (both can be used for cards with one GPU)

The Tek 3 is his "old fatty" as you put it.

Don't get me wrong, the 4/5 are good, but the 3 (fatty) is outstanding.
The slim pots just don't hold the load like the big Tek 3.

Me loves the Tek 3 hug

Thats what I figured with the fatty. Q? What are you guys doing for ram thats placed in the gap between the pot and the pcb? Are you leaving it barren with no ramsink (regulars dont' fit) or are you cutting a ramsink fin down to size and slipping it in there?

Thanks Deanzo. I directed that at dinos cause he's a posting ninja :morpheus: I pretty much knew what blocks fit what. So what kind of swing do you see with say a 285/4890 with full vmods?

Dont need any ram sink there mate at lest I dont put anything on the rams. The are is dead cold anyway! :)

Chuchnit 06-30-2009 04:57 PM

Splave nice run bro. Keep pushing it.

Jeffro, I love your determination!! Don't be afraid to try anything. Your scores keep rising!!

Banik, your screeny is lacking the details. Please re-run and make sure to open up the details for see subtest scores.

Yep, and on top that.
Many (and I have a card right now like this) have said if the mem on X card get's to low it can bug.
The mem on the 260 I'm using right now is like this, I try and keep a load on the card best I can, but if you lock up to offen, and do a number or re-boots, then sit idle as you set up for the bench for too long. The mem gets covered in ice.
With LN2 it's better, as you can hold the pot at say -20 as you do these things, and take it lower just before you start the bench.
But with Dice (what I use the most at this time) it's at -68 or soo the whole time.

That will change from user to user, I don't find it to bad. But you need to keep a better eye on it and really control your pours.
Where as the Tek 3 will hold the load soo much longer, and if you over pour it's not the end of the world.

thebluemeanie1 06-30-2009 06:05 PM

Another noob question incoming. Watch out!:rofl

Are INF modded drivers allowed if the mod is only to add support for a perticular GPU?

Modded motherboard drivers are a no no.

thebluemeanie1 06-30-2009 06:09 PM

Video card drivers not motherboard. 173.** series modified to support a 9800 GTX to be exact.

Edit to add: With the mod the video card name doesn't display right. It is something like NVIDIA_G92.DEV_0613.1. Probably because I know less about driver modding than I do about 3Dmark 2001 and I just started playing with 3Dmark 2001 a day or two ago.

Kal-EL 06-30-2009 06:19 PM

Are the drivers being hacked or are you just editing the inf file?

PM me the details of the modding you're speaking of and I'll bring it to the elders for discussion.

Other than that, at this point, I'll have to say no modified video drivers, mobo bios's, benchmark program files, bla bla bla. I wanna keep the contest on an even keel.

I know you guys can run flat out with existing drivers and hardware without relying on hacking bios's/drivers.
