http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131642 Just wondering if anyone that got these is experiencing any HIGH IOH temps?? I can't really RMA this and when I first fired it up it went to 100 and shut down..Then I re-seated the stock one and it went to 80..Then i put the one they give you with a fan and it went to 66c..I think that is still high and i could have a warped NB plate on the MB...Besides that this thing is Great...LOL |

When I first fired it up I was just sitting in the bios and it has a 100c shut down and it did....I know i live in Florida but damn the house has a/c..... it is at 66 now with the nice heat sink they give you but that is too hot... Screw it.....I am making a call....This thing is just too nice to deal with a warped nb plate |
Mine runs in the 30's.
I replaced the small removable sink on mine right off the bat with the meatier one and removed their laughable little token fan - I use high CFM ultrakazes and tornadoes in that area, depending on what will fit. I bet yours has crappy TIM job on the NB itself. Sounds like you just took off the small NB sink. I'd suggest removing the whole heatsink complex that includes the SB and the mosfets and checking the TIM. I saw one picture of a guy with his new R3E that only had TIM contact on half his NB and SB to the heatsink apparatus. |
