Jack it all the way up

"Increasing the CPU differential amplitude increases the noise immunity of the processor's reference clocks and indirectly increases the overclockability of the processor. Thus, if you face problems overclocking the processor, try increasing the CPU differential amplitude."

So is this the same as the "CPU Clock Skew" on the classy?

Nope, clock skew is just what it says. You add a delay with the skew. I haven't tried it on the classy, but it worked wonders clocking the Rampage Extreme. Goddamnit I miss that board.

Skews made a big difference when I benched E8600+RE.

On the REiii I left all in Auto but we need to fine tune these settings for the 980GT.

Jor-El 05-05-2010 10:50 AM

Anyone else noticed that disabling the 980x cores on BIOS (Active cores: 2) makes the system unstable?

Saw other results on the Classi and this function works fine there.

Splave 05-05-2010 10:56 AM

when I disabled cores I got different cold bug temps, IE there was a cold bug when I disabled cores.

shouldnt be more unstable though

In the REXiii same settings running 3d fine with 6 cores would give me BSOD on Windows load screen just because I used enable 2 cores only. Would like others with the board to check into that.

Hondacity 05-05-2010 11:13 AM

during load...on xp..it requires stability...what is your vcore? drop bclk?

Splave 05-05-2010 11:17 AM

should boot same speed though regardless of core number if anything 2 cores should be easier. sounds like an issue.
