Patch 08-04-2012 12:46 PM

Hi.

Time to post in the love shack/dating forum/oc thread.

Haven't benched this year and prolly won't in the future. It was a blast, especially the away competitions with team mates, but it was getting to the point where I would have had to seriously step up the time commitment to take it further. And I was already spending too much time away from the family.

So now I'm hanging out more with the wife and kids. Got a dog. Getting in shape. And using the $20K/year hardware budget I was blowing on a new hobby with much better resale value - original art. Really looking forward to the painting I commissioned from Julie Bell. :)

Keep ripping it up guys! And if anybody finds themselves near San Francisco and wants Elano's old dual stage Cascade for cheap, let me know.

kikicoco1334 08-04-2012 01:21 PM

omg it's pat, it's good to seeing ya bud

glad you are doing well with life

Hey hey hey :D
Nice hearing from yah Patch :good: can't argue with that re-allocation of personal time and money but don't be a stranger! Stop by once in a while to see what kikicoco does next in his personal life or see the great sexual predator advice by Maaadaaawg.

I'll be back in the bench scene soon as construction is done on the new extension here. I'm gonna slip into the 2nd/3rd recent generation hardware arena to stave off the 20k a year budget requirements of bleeding edge overclocking and focus on crusty scab overclocking  instead.

I'll slip "Retired Legend" into your user title :taunt:

All I can add to that is stay away from Socket 754 - Or you'll get :owned2: :D

Seriously, the older stuff is kinda fun and cheap to get IF you know where to look. Here's a site I've got some of my "Older" chips from.

http://www.starmicroinc.net/

Just be sure to read the descriptions carefully and also watch those prices, some are really good, some are really crazy, stay away from the crazy deals and you'll be OK.

kikicoco1334 08-04-2012 10:20 PM

I have no access to the camera right now, but i'll take a picture of what i got the other day XD
it's a ebay thing and it was like 35 shipped and it contains 81 different 775 chips i've always been a 775 fan (not saying i am any good at it) out of those 81 chips there is a few doa but also found a few chips i may beable to hit a better score than what i already have :D

GFDuke 08-05-2012 02:25 AM

Good to hear from you Patch. Good luck with you new hobby.

Witchdoctor 08-05-2012 04:36 AM

Good to here from you Patch, hope the future takes you where you are going, have fun enjoy life and stop in every now and then..............

kikicoco1334 08-14-2012 01:32 PM

long story short, got sick of dealing with 1600mhz C9 stuff and picked up a pair of the cmt8gx3m2b2133c9 with the fan and everything and according to i4memory it may have some kind of samsung IC in it.
right now @ 45x with the 3570k + 2400mhz 9-13-12-28 @ 1.75v ran 32M for 7min22sec with no tweak and newly installed 7/64 no SP1

now working on reinstalling 7/64 SP1 simp chinese

RMA is a thing

kikicoco1334 08-14-2012 10:04 PM

been benching for 7hrs, not so sure if it's win or fail.

3570k @ 4500MHz with Thermalright VX
CMT8GX3M2B2133C9 @ 2400MHz @ 9-11-11-21 1T @ 1.80v (kinda went full retarded on that and just so i know i am not short on voltage :P) <- not sure if it's a stupid move or not
Gigabyte Z77-UD5P board

should i lower the speed on the ram to 2200 and make the timming like extremely low?
this thing will not boot at 107x43

http://d1ebmxcfh8bf9c.cloudfront.net...id_828697.jpeg

DOM 08-14-2012 11:12 PM

Ewww you went with a gigbutt

Are those samsung ? Seems close to my teamgroup on the xmp @2133

You shouldn't need 1.8 maybe like 1.65-1.7 for 2400

Splave 08-15-2012 02:18 AM

keep those timings and jump to 2600mem 100x45  they wont go much tighter even at lower frequency

kikicoco1334 08-15-2012 05:38 AM

rg that!
as far as i can tell they are samsung but not sure and can't seem to get those sexy heatsink off
