Yes Im using the atatchment. I had a bad night lastnight board wasnt cooperating. An for sum reason this session a had a cold bug at -160 :( an before I didnt.

I did manage to get this Pifast score, Same score as Patch. I dont know why it nocked him down since he had the score first.

I use it. My NB temps are in the low 30's.

Gone Fishing.......................................

Hondacity 05-30-2010 04:50 PM

with extremely low temps...
cpu pwm 500 - super degraded vcore control
cpu pwm 750 - just bad
cpu pwm 1000 - almost ok

mobo is very stable...but with ln2 1000kHz is needed..

cooling x58 chipset sorta helps....

Hondacity 05-30-2010 09:31 PM

**prior post was ht off....

guys clockin on this board how is your vcore drop on ht load...?

during 6c12t...we were pulling 750w from the wall!!! that was with a puny videocard...dunno if the ripples were so bad...

leaky cpu....dunno if the vregs were capable...

i love the rog connect but i'm questioning now the power circuit...

feedback please

thanks

Splave 05-31-2010 10:09 AM

what type of LLC where you using? rofl what where you benching when you hit 750w? wprime?

GFDuke 05-31-2010 10:59 AM

Ok gotta start talking Asus here. I had a cpu-z of 6685mhz this am. But after i did the save validation file it bs'd on me and even though it did save the validation it won't submit. Running 35X 191 and I was at 1.87 vcore, 1.56 qpi (vtt in EVGA terms), PCIe was at 106, i had the cpu pll at 1.92 and i was running the ram and uncore real low to avoid any problems there. Ram voltage was 1.68. I can achieve this speed pretty much anytime i want but for some reason it just crashes when i try to save the validation file. It sounds to me like there is some little bump i need somewhere but i just can't figure out what it is. And i'm getting a litte annoyed. Any ideas? I've tried to bump the vcore but its still the same and more QPI (vtt) dosn't seem to help either. Am i running my VTT to high? Would more pcie help and how much more?

I've even dropped down to 6650mhz but i get the same problem.
Bench temps are at around -130 to -140
I'm on my Splaver bios settings.

GFDuke 05-31-2010 11:56 AM

Heres the deal. I'm using ROG to bump up after i get into windows.

Thx for posting this Dukester, RE3 boot up is emminant here.

Speaking losely cuz I've had 3 dewars filled with fail sauce, upping pce/mhz would relieve the slow mouse action when pushing blck on the 762 board (failure x2 now) so maybe it might help stability? pinch vdimm too, can't hurt till around 1.8vdimm me thinks.

I dunno, wanna puke at that cpu speed :P

Hondacity 05-31-2010 12:47 PM

6.6 @ -140

thats just not cold enough?

even on a clarkdale thats just not cold enough for the frequency...

just my opinion...

yeah wprime...

llc full load line cal...

i'm thinking the mobo isn't stable...

Kal-EL 05-31-2010 12:49 PM

I'd pinch ioh voltatge a bit too but I'm not splave.

GFDuke 05-31-2010 01:19 PM

You're welcome Kal. I've been meaning to post that up but when the board is up i usually have one thing in mind. BOT!!!
Like 1.25? And i did read hondas post on the live stream. 2 sticks of ram would be better?

Kal-EL 05-31-2010 02:47 PM

If it gets you colder, who knows? maybe 7ghz?

Patch 05-31-2010 04:27 PM

1) That's crazy brave QPI imo. I've been scared to go above 1.475 after crippling my A0.
2) I run IOH at 1.35-1.4 regularly, but I have one of the weird good temp R3E's. Never seen NB temps in the 40's.
3) Try benching with internet access and submit your validation instead of saving it. On Cedar Mills I could always directly submit higher CPUz's than I could save to a hard drive.

Splave 05-31-2010 05:21 PM

I had cpu pll up to 2.015 for my valids at the compo

5/31/2010 bios 0702 is out...

i dont have download link...anybody have some?

702.... difficult downloading it....lots of traffic i would think

Splave 06-10-2010 06:54 AM

Rampage III Extreme

BIOS 0704

1. Added additional memory options (tRFC settings) to improve overclocking
2. Enable support for "Subzero Booster" for improved LN2 overclocking capabilities
3. Enabled additional CPU support for CPU Level Up functionality
4. Improved 3D performance at stock settings

(from XS)

Hondacity 06-10-2010 07:06 AM

subzero booster...sounds like more power :D

file isn't available? after clicking on the liink

http://www.mediafire.com/?g3ncuiagknz this works

Splave 06-10-2010 07:07 AM

fixed

GFDuke 06-11-2010 01:38 PM

Do you knw if the CB is still gone with this bios?

Hondacity 06-11-2010 01:48 PM

i heard 904 is coming....or brian was drunk lol...

not sure, Ive never had CB on my retail but I plan on flashing to 704 before I bench today

GFDuke 06-13-2010 04:48 AM

I'm pretty sure you need to stay away from that bios. I think it killed 2 chips on me this am.

Hondacity 06-13-2010 06:11 AM

andreYang is using 704 when he shift the universes rotational frequency..

Kal-EL 06-13-2010 11:18 PM

Where does Andre buy his chips from anyway?

thebanik 06-14-2010 12:26 AM

Does he only buy? or he gets trays to test and keep as well??

Splave 06-14-2010 04:08 AM

lets get back on topic guys

802 bios

sofos1990 07-02-2010 06:21 AM

Has anyone test the "subzero booster" option on 0704 ?

Splave 07-02-2010 06:34 AM

Yes mode 1 is supposed to help a bit so I have heard. I tried it and didnt seem to make a difference

Hondacity 07-02-2010 06:39 AM

thanks for the 802 :D

damn media fire pops up alot of windows...

Hondacity 07-02-2010 06:41 AM

mode1 sorta helps..i'll try the other mode...i wish they have some infobits about the modes

Splave 07-02-2010 07:05 AM

I know right? remember the overclock mode has mode 1 and 2 and auto. We asked the bios engineer and he had no clue it was even there.
