New house gets wired within the week. Decided against the Comcast scam. We don't get TV or phone so I didn't feel like signing a two $*()%&(* year contract for "20 mbs" with "powerboost" for $70/month with no guarantee of speeds anywhere near that.

Decided to go with Sonic. The company's based in my town, I'm pretty close to a node, and they're offering me dual 20 mbs DSL lines with a bonded modem for $70/mo with NO CONTRACT. I suspect the dual lines just add redundancy and won't give me the 30-40mps additive speed the rep claims, but with NO CONTRACT I can just cancel if it sucks.

Damn Patch, I thought INternet poverty was a thing of the past :P

Dual DSL + phone lines for $70. $10 cheaper than the POS single DSL + phone from AT&T I posted above. Either my suspicion about dual line marketing gimmickry was correct or I'm not setting up my modem right.

Maybe all dual lines get me is a nice ping. Too bad I suck at games. :taunt:

hey pat idk if you guys got comcast or not over in cali but they are faster than dsl ;)

here wifi i get somewhere around 19mbs and hardline i get 33 down and 7.5 up

and around 60 a month that's with phone which i never use lol

Believe it or not, the Killer NIC cards actually do work, so, if you can't upgrade your internet connection it may be a way to pull some more kbs for under $100.

I have a 18mbs down and 2mbs ATT Uverse. When I added the Killer NIC it bounced me up to 26/28 mbs download depending on the day etc.
