Good work buddy!! Man don't you wish you could go sub-zero everyday?

There ya go buddy. From the man, the myth, the electrical engineering genious himself :D I think here he goes through some pretty good stuff for subzero clocking.

Thanks for posting this mate! I will get on this board next week as well! :D

great start for sure, but remember, 240BCLK might just be the limit of your chip. my W3540 isn't as friendly over 240BCLK as my 920 is. with that said, here are some screens of the BIOS settings i use when running 240+ with my 920's and the Classified that is wrote up for someone else...

Keep in mind these are the settings to achieve 250BLCK, and may not be 100% bench stable at 220 or lower, but should be. Either way, a good starting place for you...

Notes for 3023y.jpg: Don't bother trying to boot over 220BCLK, well, try...but if it doesn't work just boot at 220BCLK and E-Leet your way up. Sometimes small 5 BCLK jumps helps get up high and around 250BCLK, 2 BCLK jumps work better I have found. PCI-E Frequency can be 113 or 114, if you can push higher it might be beneficial. My board will only do 113/114 with my GTX295, but will go higher for the GTX260. For all the 250BCLK runs I have posted though, I have used 113/114. The uncore multi is also something that can be raised but I generally start testing at the lowest possible, in this case 16X due to the 2:8 memory ratio, and if at 250BCLK the 2:8 ratio is likely all you can work with. If not, I want your memory and chip :)

Notes for 3023.jpg: VTT/CPU PWM Frequency may need adjusting. 490/940 and 610/1210 have worked for me. Some guys like 490/1333, so maybe play around with it, not sure how much of an actual effect it has. VTT voltage might need to be set to +100v (equates to 1.3v) and I would actually start there. Oh yeah, ignore the voltages in the right column in grey, they are what I am working on - memory at 1200MHz 8-9-8 :)

Notes for 3023x.jpg: Nothing needs to be explained here I don't think.
Hope that helps you out but as said, this is for a couple 920's i have used and as we all know...plugging in settings isn't the key to overclocking, but hopefully the ideas behind my settings help a little bit. don't hesitate to ask for elaboration on anything either, i am around and watching

Yeah I fear it won't do 240 and above. I didn't jack with the vtt/cpu frequencies at all. That is part of my new approach tonight I am going to try.

Hey Doc,

What is the white putty type substance you used to insulate the mobo area around the socket?

Did you lacquer that area of the board first or put any thing under the white putty to keep the board clean?

How do you clean it up once your have finished the Dice run and want to change processors or even reseat the processor?

DrNip 07-18-2009 11:00 AM

It is kneaded eraser that you can find at hobby shops like Hobby Lobby. I didn't use anything else besides it and the black neoprene you can see in the pics. When done it pulls right off. It is kinda like play-do but a lil harder to work with.

DrNip 07-18-2009 01:59 PM

Cold boot problem fix with that jumper suggestion chuchnit!!!

Able to obtain a lil higher clock messin with those vtt/cpu pwm frequency volts Jody!!!
