Default How much DICE per session?

How long does 1lb of DICE last in a benching session?

How do you store the stuff and in what quanities do you usually buy it?

I store it in a igloo cooler. 1lb might be enough to get your pot pulled down to benching temps. I usually buy 30-40lbs at a time when I bench. I buy it at the local grocery store, it's about $1.25/lb or so. They only carry blocks which sucks, but smash it up real good by putting it into a pillow case and slamming it on the concrete, then bust up the chunks with a 3 lb. hammer.

I buy about the same amount and store just as Gunslinger. For me, 30-40lbs lasts me a good long time even using Acetone. If you haven't benched DI before, start with about 20-30lbs so you know you have enough but still gives you room if you mess up and have to let the board condense.

+1 30-40 lb should be good and give you some room for error, or a quite long benching session.

also make sure you smash it up as small as possible..... any large rocks of it do you no good

Believe it or not I buy about 10 lbs at a time and it last me about 4 hours or so. I never really buy more than this at a time.

Does using Acetone speed up the evaporation process of the DICE in the pot? What else might be used instead of Acetone?

What does "let the board condense" mean?

(I've got a pot and prepped the board per the cooling guide here, just waiting for the time to try it.)

About how long would 20-30 pounds of DICE last if stored in an igloo cooler? Could you use it over a weekend or would you expect to burn through it all in a single benching session?

I had a pound of dry ice that came with some frozen food once. Put it in the Freezer and checked on it 24 hours later. It was gone.

P.S. - what's easier for you guys to read on this black background? Do you prefer white or blue text?

I believe that anything over 4 hours you are just spinning your wheels. Or at least for me. I work it for about four hours, get some sleep then come back at a new angle the next day if need be.

Man I agree with that. Can't tell you how many times I found myself going in circles and getting no where.

But if things are going great I do not stop until I have finished what I wanted to do.

Big rocks are great IMO, well not for benching but rather in the pool
My poor pool gets so abused HAHA
