Default GTZ i7 block

Quote:
Swiftech Announces Apogee GTZ Ci7 CPU Water Block
Water-cooling specialist Swiftech expanded its lineup with the Apogee GTZ Ci7 CPU water block. From its name, one can infer that it specifically supports the Intel LGA-1366 socket (Core i7 and Xeon 5500 series). The frame that holds the block has the appropriate mount holes for LGA-1366. A bolt-through retention mechanism is bundled. The block itself is near-identical in specifications to the original Apogee GTZ. The CPU copper contact base is lapped, and has a matrix of 225 micron copper pins to boost surface area of heat dissipation. The housing is Delrin-made. Options for 1/2" and 3/8" hose barbs are provided. A tube of Arctic Silver Ceramique is bundled. It is priced at US $69.99.

I have this block, and it is nice, performance is pretty decent. There are better blocks, but I use ALOT of swiftech stuff.

Well, when it comes to performance I'll defend the winner and the GTZ ain't it.

If you want one of the top two blocks you will look at the HK 3.0 or the kl-350 although I'm partial to the hk as it is the least restrictive and so is more versatile.

On one hand, look at that temps for 1.4 volts on a qx6850 @ 4ghz with the GTZ waterblock + pa120.3 & pa160 2 pump 2 gpu + chipset loop. 73f 22c ambient outside. A/C running in office

On the other hand, picture setting 1.45v in the bios and getting 1.4 in windows then seeing a 1.35 drop off during the tail end of the run.

edit: forgot to spec it out........

Looks like some cool temps to me. Especially with a hot running Kentsfield.

Looks my full load temps on my xeon lol! In my xeon's defense though it was using just over 1.4v. Seriously though man I would find out what is wrong there as those temps suck balls for that piffling load.

btw if you want to show off temps under load you should try something a little more cpu intensive than wprime and then make it last a wee bit longer than 10 seconds...I like to see temps after an hour of being hard loaded as a minimum.

I think you better check ur eyes as those temps don't suck for the load. The temps are great for a kentsfield with 1.45volts set in bios and 1.4 in windows @ 4ghz.

It's o.k. man, I know ur gettin on in years.
