Talking hi boyz hi girlz!!

hello everybody here!

I'm a total nOOb about modding and overclocking, much of all 'cause I don't have hardware to do it!!
So I'll admit I'm here just to follow your discussion and to start to learn something about it..

A first question, if possible.. it's possible to do nice overclocking using only Linux OS?

Thank you everybody, have a nice day!!

You can overclock your machine in the bios and will work with Linux. Overclocking GPU in Linux will require someone to create interface program with hardware within linux. OR you can flash higher GPU clocks onto the card prior to entering Linux.

There may be more options but I'm not completely familiarized with the Duck erm Penguin.

Thank you very much, my new friends!
Very happy to read your replies, must admit that..

anyway, I have to say that I didn't explain myself as good as I wanted, in my first post..
naturally, at least at hardware level, it clear that same things a person could with Windows he could do with Linux, too! It's a work that it had to be done with the hardware..

But I saw that a lot of people uses special software to take shots of their results.. sometimes are software like CpuZ, sometimes are benchmarking software.. but in same cases I saw GPU's proprietary software (nVidia, Ati ones, just for example): and I really doubt that those kind of software they exist for Linux, too.. I don't understand why, but I fear that that's the truth.. :(

If you are using Linux for work and daily grinding just throw a Windows partition on another drive or dual boot if you only have one

it would make benching a bit more stream line for you.

yes sir, I fear that if I would like to make a serious walk into overclock art I will have to install Windows into a small partition..
