Exclamation Hwbot Inter-Member Hardware Sales

You guys all remember back in February when I asked Massman and Richbastard if selling hardware to a fellow team mate was legal or sharing. At that time, both of them pm'd me and said it was absolutely ILLEGAL. So we don't sell to one another.

Today, as it turns out, Massman says that selling to a fellow team mate is allowed. Why they told me something totally different in February is WAY BEYOND ME!

Nevertheless, it'll help our team mates out a whole bunch. The rule now is not to abuse the Selling Policy by faking sales or moving hardware between multiple team mates, obviously abusive.

Personal Note: I find it strange and offensive that after I specifically pm'd them in February to get clarification and they tell me its a big "no no" then say its o.k. after all this time has passed. I guess we were flying by a special OCA rule until now.

I remeber it well ..........

But what I do not understand is why we were not notified of this obvious rule change as in February it was made clear that it was not allowed.

I have to beleive this monumental change of the fundemental rules could not been done with out letting us and all teams know

Please have one of the mods over there link me to the date and post that all teams were notified of this.

Or are they just making this up as they go?

sort of like playing Monopolly with a 5 year old ...............

sorry supes this is the absolut minimum sarcasam one can have

who the ring master of that circus ?

Guess the check engine light only truly becomes relevant when there are flames billowing from under the hood eh?

The rules need to be clarified. They state that hardware sharing IS allowed, but not for a related benchmark.

Quote:
4. Lending hardware, hardware sharing, score sharing/selling/buying

This in a delicate subject as we have to trust on the honesty of those participating at the HWbot that they are indeed using their own hardware and not sharing a golden sample CPU or VGA card.
Let’s start with what is allowed to be shared: everything… except:

- VGA may not be shared for 3D Benchmarks
- CPU may not be shared for 2D Benchmarks
- special cases, like what to do with joint bench sessions and manufacturer hardware is explained here.
So hardware sharing is allowed. Why wouldn't sales be?
