Yes, yes and yes again. If it's borked then send it back and get another. Do it and think about it later.

Man they lowered the prices on those things! Great price. I bought mine for $199 back in Jan but it was with free shipping. That is irrelevant to you though as you live out in the ocean.

YES you should. You will then need a LCD poster for it though.

It comes in handy as it displays different info about your setup as well as lets you do on the fly overclocking within Windows.

Is this piece absolutely relevant and necessary to achieve a decent overclock or would I be fine to overclock via the bios? Does this display device allow for on the fly voltage increases?

You could just use the bios and then setfsb if you like. It does allow for you to tweak the fsb and various volt from windows. It would be good for cpuz if you want to squeak out a few extra mhz that you couldn't have because of your boot. But as stated you could use setfsb but I don't think you can tweak the volts with it like you could the lcd poster. Correct me if I am wrong chuchnit but the lcd poster does allow for voltage increase on your cpu, fsb, nb and sb? Its been so long that I'm not 100% positive but pretty positive.

Yes the LCD poster monitors like 7 different temps, 7 different volts, can adjust volts for CPU vtt, CPU vcore, NB vcore, SB 1.5v, SB 1.05v, DRAM, and like one more, plus adjust FSB at the bios level within windows.

ASUS has a three year warranty. You do not have to register it with ASUS like evga so anyone who buys the board has the warranty three years from the date that serial number was produced.

The trick with an Asus rma is to call in to get it started, the online rma proccess is horseshit. They are pretty hassle free when it comes to an rma though.
