Th H50 is good enough for about 4HT on an i7, not much more then that (stable anyway).
However, you can usually find them for $50, and since it comes with mounting for every major socket, its a good deal. You can get some bigger tubing and a res for cheap to put on it which will help, and even add another rad to help some more.
Though to me, if you are going with air, the CM Hyper 212+ can be had for $25 and is by far the best bang for buck. The difference between that and a $70 cooler is slim, and if you are going to be spending that much, Id just go with a custom loop.
