Default Core i7 take two

New HW specs
Mobo: Bloodrage X58 (not modded yet)
CPU : Core i7 920
RAM: Kinstone HyperX t1 3x1GB 2000MHz C8
PSU: Corsair 750W
Cooling: Water for CPU and chipset
HDD: Corsair 60GB 2.5" SSD

GPUs
2x7600GT
9500 DDR2
4890
X800xt

Leak testing at the moment, only going to test for 15 minutes. Will get the fans hooked up then and start installing Vista (not nLited)

Expecting to be able to bench at 4.7GHz. IIRC 225-230 is the max doable on this setup without the PCIE mod, I will be modding it though and eventually DIcing the chip. For now it will just be some 3D benches to grab some cheap boints

Installing windows now at stock. Set SSD for AHCI mode to see if that helps disk performance at all. (for PCMark testing )

Was looking through some memory reviews and it seems odd but... 2050 8-8-8 does better in Pi then 1866 6-7-6-6 :o

Wonder what these bad boys will do once I start to really clock them heh heh

Also did a quick play around with the PCIE freq, and its not limited to 103... so once I get windows installed I will see if setting it higher actually works... might not need a PCIE mod

Okay windows installed and updated and tweaked, just poking around a little bit.

Going to start installing utilities I will need (CPU GPU softclocking stuff) and image the OS

On a side note. WOW this ram runs warm even seriously underclocked. Dunno if it is because the ram actually runs warm.. or its the first ram I ever had with a functional heatspreader lol.

No love tonight. 190BCLK hardwall, and raising PCIE means I cant get into windows because BIOS loses my HDDs.

Not finished yet got some other stuff to try still.. but not looking good :(

yes it do indeed

I asked on OCN about it... was told to ask at XS lol

I knew the site was filled with trolls and youngins. (trolls is only reason I post there... lets me vent) And XS.. meh.. those guys dont like answering questions unless you phrase it real specific like.

n00b like me wont get any answers at XS.

im hitting a 190 BCLK wall.. consideirng both CPU and mobo are used.. I dont know which os the problem. I assume it is the board... so I contacted the seller for direction (no luck yet) might be some trick with the BR)

Thinking I might just sell it all off and say fuck 3d benching. Leave 3d for the big boys that can drop a grand on a CPU/mobo/ram setup.

Its a damn costly passion to follow for sure, and sadly no1 in the family understands the *NEED* to spend so much money on a computer when others can build their for so much cheap and need not upgrade for years,

isn't ACHI mode on SSD's bad sauce? We install them in-house for large deployment in IDE mode.

you should hit Dent up and see if he sold his Classy .... 175 for it is a steal ...
Not up to speed on the limitations of the Foxxcon boards .....

I know what you mean though ... this is one exspencive hobby
That is why I am buying up cheaper cards and hitting hardware boints so hard.
It doesn't do much for my personal standing in the rankings but helps the team climb up the ladder in the world standings and also I have lots of fun doing it.

Good luck bro and just do what you can with what you have, just participating in the game is what is the funnest part .............

Winning the game is just a matter of time ......

Neuro, IIRC the bloodrage has some very very tight internal timings on auto. I don't have any experience on it though. I just remember SF3D mentioning that the auto timings are super tight and limit bclock. You might just have to fight the signifigant timings to boost the bclock. I sure hope it works out because it is supposed to be a very good scoring board when up to speed.

Agreed! I had two of them before and had pretty good results with it but I never pushed the BCLK passed 210 since I used a 975.
