He, however, expressed concern that I wouldn't have a matched set which could cause conflicts and put a note in their computer that I would send in 1 stick of C7 and they would send me back 3 sticks of C8 That's much closer to a dollar for dollar value, so....

I didn't argue

Had I not posted the death of my 1 stick, I'd have never known they'd screw me and wouldn't have had the chance to negotiate this better deal

Glad it worked out for your man. I had a similar issue with Kingston hyper ICs recently. They sent me some stuff that cost $60 after I paid $150 for mine.

I said uh nuh uh and they refunded my original purchase price!! WOW

i payed like 300 for some ddr2 2x1gb balistix 1000mhz when they first came out then one went bad and they sent me the 1066mhz do you think they would give me a refund

its crazy the prices never change much but the tech has advanced alot since i got into comps

Tech has really gone nutty over teh last decade.Higher ad higher progression. 2012 should be SATAIV FxFx. I hope they get a bit smarter and dont just double SATA3 again.

I know what you guys mean... ive been in this since the XT and soldering on crystals to change frequencies and jumper overclocking lol.

alot has changed..... hell I remember paying hundreds for a 250MB HDD and a few megs of ram 250MB you cant even find a 250MB thumb drive now days....

I've been in this since the RadioShack 48K desktop was king. My first home computer was a Commodore Vic20 with 6kb or RAM At work we had a 2GB hard drive hooked up to a Radio Schak 128K machine, the HDD costs over $10,000.

then, when the all powerful IBM PC came out with 2 5.5in floppys, I was able to write macro programs by having the system disk in Drive A while the data disks went in and out of Drive B as needed

bout the time the AT came out, I was building my own. A 20 MEGABYTE HDD on a ISA card costs over $400. I meg of RAM costs close to $100, especially if you went for the fast 80ns sticks :

My first real home pc cost me $2,200 for a 12Mhz 286, a 20MB hdd, a floppy, and that's about it. the black and white monitor cost somewhere around $300
